My First Post! - Book Review Criteria
Updated: Jan 5, 2022
Hello! Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I will be posting my weekly book reviews every Sunday, and also announcing the book for the following week. I will also be posting my favorite quote from each book weekly! This is the beginning of my journey into writing, and I know I am not a perfect writer, so please be kind and stay patient with me. I am still figuring out the best way to speak my mind through writing, and learning the best way to review books.
My plan is to read (at least) one book a week, for the whole year of 2022, which totals up to 52 books! Twenty-six of the books will be classics (which I have already picked!) and the other twenty-six books will be varying genres. Some of the classics I picked are going to be re-reads for me, but I would like to dive deeper into each of them and give a wonderful review.
If there are any books that you recommend me to read, please leave me a suggestion on the recommendations page!
The 26 classics I plan to read this year are:
Little Women
The Great Gatsby
Emma
Jane Eyre
Sense and Sensibility
Persuasion
Northanger Abbey
Mansfield Park
Pride and Prejudice
Wuthering Heights
Of Mice and Men
Catcher and the Rye
The Time Machine
To Kill a Mockingbird
Tale of Two Cities
Great Expectations
The Scarlett Letter
Fahrenheit 451
To the Lighthouse
Dracula
Frankenstein
Middlemarch
1984
The Outsiders
Slaughterhouse 5
A Christmas Carol
Now, what is the best way to review a book? I have chosen a popular book review method, the 5 star rating! I will be rating each book on the following criteria and then assigning 1 to 5 stars:
Initial response
Characters
Plot/structure
Writing style
likelihood to recommend the book to others
Please stay tuned for the first review Sunday January 9th. The first book I will be reading is Little Women By Louisa May Alcott
Great job honey
